What you'll need
  • A school email or proof of status (for some offers)

Who qualifies

College students and parents buying for them, teachers and school staff, eligible students at schools with Microsoft accounts, and U.S. military members, veterans and some family members.

What you get

Education or military pricing on Apple products, free web Office for eligible students and teachers, and education discounts on some Microsoft Store devices.

After the free part

Discounts only; you still pay for devices. Office 365 Education stays free while you're at an eligible school.

Real discounts vs fake ones: On apple.com or microsoft.com / Checked by a named partner like ID.me / Price shown at checkout; Link from a text or social ad / Asks for ID photos by message / "Pay a fee to unlock the discount"
  1. Apple education pricing

Apple's Education Store offers pricing for college students, parents buying for them, and teachers and staff at schools of all levels. Find it at apple.com/us-edu/store.

  2. Apple military discount

Apple's Veterans and Military store offers a discount to current and veteran U.S. military members and eligible family members. Eligibility is checked through ID.me.

  3. Microsoft education

Students and teachers at eligible schools can get Office 365 Education (web versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and more) free with a valid school email. The Microsoft Store also lists an education discount on some devices.

  4. Seniors: ask and check

Some phone carriers have plans for people 55 and older, and many companies list senior discounts on their official sites. Ask, and confirm on the company's own website.

  5. Avoid fake discount sites

โš ๏ธ Careful: Shop only on the company's own store or through its named verification partner. Never send ID photos or card details to a "discount" link from a text or social media ad. Real free programs never ask for your card or bank details to give you something free, never pressure you with a countdown, and never come from a random text, pop-up or caller. Go to the official website yourself instead of tapping a link.
