What you'll need
  • Both phones, charged
  • Wi-Fi
  • About 20 minutes (big libraries take longer)
  1. iPhone to iPhone

Use Quick Start: turn on the new iPhone near your old one and follow the prompts to transfer your data. If you use iCloud Photos, your photos also appear once you sign in.

  2. Android to Android

If your photos are backed up in Google Photos, sign in on the new phone and they'll be there. During setup, you can also copy data from your old phone.

  3. Android to iPhone

During the new iPhone's setup, choose Move Data from Android. Install the Move to iOS app on the Android phone, enter the code, and select your photos and albums. Already finished setup? You'd need to erase the iPhone to use Move to iOS, so use Google Photos instead.

  4. iPhone to Android

During the new Android phone's setup, choose to copy from an iPhone or iPad (cable or the Android Switch app), and select Photos and videos. Photos stored only in iCloud need the iCloud transfer at privacy.apple.com.

💡 Tip: Keep both phones plugged in and close together until the transfer finishes.
  5. Check before you wipe the old phone

Open a few old albums on the new phone and check that your videos came over too. Only then reset the old phone.

🎉 All done!
