What you'll need
  • A library card (for some library classes)
  • A phone or computer to sign up

Who qualifies

Anyone. Senior Planet is aimed at people 60 and older. Library classes may need a library card.

What you get

Friendly classes and help with phones, computers, email and staying safe online, in person, by phone or online.

After the free part

Free. Today at Apple sessions are free but not offered in every store.

Real help vs fake tech support: You go to them: library, Apple Store / Free sign-up on official site / Nobody needs your passwords; Pop-up, call or text says you have a virus / Wants remote access to your computer / Asks for gift cards or bank details
  1. Your public library

Many libraries offer free computer classes and one-on-one tech help. Ask at the desk or check your library's website.

  2. Senior Planet from AARP

Free online and phone classes for older adults on phones, computers, staying safe online and more. See the schedule at seniorplanet.org.

  3. Today at Apple

Free sessions at Apple Stores on using iPhone, iPad and Mac. Sign up at apple.com/today or in the Apple Store app. Not available everywhere.

  4. Free lessons at home

LearnFree.org (formerly GCFGlobal) and DigitalLearn.org, from the Public Library Association, have free step-by-step lessons, and this site's how-tos walk you through common tasks.

  5. Avoid fake tech support

โš ๏ธ Careful: Real help never starts with a pop-up, call or text saying your device has a problem, and never asks for remote access, gift cards or your bank details. Real free programs never ask for your card or bank details to give you something free, never pressure you with a countdown, and never come from a random text, pop-up or caller. Go to the official website yourself instead of tapping a link.

The real addresses are seniorplanet.org, apple.com/today. Type it yourself or use the buttons above. Fake sites use names like senior-tech-support-help.com (examples only, do not visit). A real free program never asks for your card or bank details to โ€œunlockโ€ it.

Why we trust this: Class details come from Senior Planet's, Apple's, LearnFree's and DigitalLearn's own sites, checked October 2026.
